Not the first time I’m showing something like this, nor will it be the last one.
- Hotel location: Switzerland.
- Search location: Switzerland, Italy and USA.
- Channel: Expedia.
- Local hotel currency: CHF.
- Search criteria: Arriving October 3rd, 2019, 1 night, 2 adults.
The hotel decided to give better price on its own booking engine, as opposed to EX:
- Official price on booking engine: CHF 1071.
- Official price on EX: CHF 1200.
Simple math, since I simulated the search from Italy and the US, let’s convert 1200 CHF respectively in EUR and USD.

These are the values, in EUR and USD, that I should be seeing in my searches from Italy and the US, right?
Wrong, of course.

Needless to say that this hotel doesn’t have any location-based promotion created in the extranet of EX.
Like in Vegas, the House (EX) always wins, eventually 🙂
