Is-it-time-to-outsource-Revenue-Management

Following is the summary of a poll that I posted a few days ago on Linkedin.

The question was:

Is it time to outsource Revenue Management?

Since the only reason for launching the poll was to share the results, even though I cannot disclaim who voted what, for obvious reasons.

So here they are:

Results: Is it time to outsource Revenue Management?
Results: Is it time to outsource Revenue Management?

So essentially we got a tie.

As you can see from the flag, I personally voted “Not sure/ depends”. Not because I’m not sure, but because there are so many factors that impact such a decision, that the decision itself is neither right or wrong in principle.

Either way, the interesting part is to see who are those who voted YES. And those who voted NO.

More specifically, since the poll is anonymous, what are the Job Titles who voted respectively YES and NO.

YES NO
General Managers 15 21
Revenue Managers (IN) 11 39
Revenue Managers (OUT) 44 22

A bit of a legend: with Revenue Managers (IN) I mean those who work Revenue Management in-house, meaning they actually work in hotel.

OUTs are RM consultants, specialists or anyway those who serve the hotel industry from the outside.

The sum I’ve made is a bit rough, so allow a minimal margin. Either way, I was curious to know the opinion of the decision makers (General Managers) and those who are directly addressed by the question, Revenue Managers.

Do these figures surprise you?
